2 Llanfoist - Govilon Line
Route starts at Llanfoist Crossing car park, NP7 9LP

This is a popular walking and cycling route, along a very gently sloping former
railway line. The banks are home to many species of trees, wildflowers and ferns.
The route changes from raised embankment to railway cuttings, crossing several
bridges with fantastic views of the local countryside. The initial 3 miles/5km from
Llanfoist to near Gilwern is surfaced with tarmac. Information boards can be found
along the route.
How to get there: The route starts at the Llanfoist Crossing car park (NP7 9LP) on the
B4246 Merthyr Rd at the western edge of Llanfoist. There is a large gap next to the wide
entrance gate which allows wheelchair access.

and basic snacks.
