Where Should I Keep My New Equine Partner?

be free of any kind of farm equipment, objects that may fall down on your horse,
and they should be no sharp objects on the floor that could hurt your horse while
               walking or laying down.

A proper pasture must (Hill, 2005):
                 • Be full of grass and no poisonous plants.

                 • Be enclosed with safe fences that
should be at least five feet tall.

                 • Have access to good-quality water
                    every time.

                 • Be well drained.

                 • Provide natural or man-made safe
                    shelter.

I love spending time in a pasture because I have lots of
space to run and roll whenever I want, and doing that kind
of relaxes me. When I was younger, I didn’t like to be outsi-
de in a pasture alone. I used to jump over the fences of the
pasture to go look for my friends. It made my groom very
mad. Don’t blame me, we are very social creatures and we
really enjoy having other horses around.
