                           3. Friendship with the world is hatred toward God

of Israel. The devoted things mean ‘the cursed things that

were determined to be perished’. Now, do you understand the
                 meaning of the Word?
Joshua 7:11 says, Israel has sinned; they have vio-

lated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep.
They have taken some of the devoted things—it means

                 the cursed things that were determined to be perished—;
they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with
their own possessions. That suspect was Achan, and he

was taken by casting lots. He replied in Joshua 7:21, When I
saw in the plunder a beautiful robe from Babylonia, two

have been very happy until then. How he would have been

dreamed? He must have dreamed the days wearing a robe
from Shinar, which was an expensive cloak that is so-called
the world famous brand, because he hid it in the ground in
his tent, and also would not he think that he would live well
later with hidden gold and silver? But with those things, not

only Achan was destroyed, but also his children and his live-
stock were stoned to death, and his tent, and all things that
belonged to him were ‘burned with fire’.
It says that after the judgment of Achan and his house-

holds, the LORD turned from his fierce anger. See, this is not
