Trait 4: One who is passionate about their area of study
and instils the love and joy of learning in a classroom;
Trait 5: One who is a creator of curriculum;
Trait 6: One who teaches from where children are;
Trait 7: One who is a teacher of language; and
Trait 8: One who knows that true learning begins with a
question and with a stimulus of curiosity;
I teach children through “play”.
We convert the classroom into a playground
because the best kind of learning happens
socially.
We are all responsible for teaching and
learning. I too learn from my children every
day.
Everyday materials have a place for learning.
I learn how to teach English (and literacy
skills) by using methodologies appropriate
for second language English speakers. I use
mother tongue as a resource to help them
learn. In my classroom, we celebrate all
languages.
Children learn to love learning when a
teacher is passionate, committed and one
who instils a joy in learning new things….and
one who is prepared to learn herself.
Successful learning can also be found in
failure. Failing forward is a concept we adopt
in my classroom
The creation of a celebratory moment is all a
child needs to be motivated.
