MOOCs, of course, online courses, learning analytics that’s a good research subject. It’s already good to talk
about machine learning but leaning analytics – what kind of learning and of course, virtual and remote labs.

And I think CHARUSAT is well equipped to move strongly in expanding digital education age. See, India is
in its growth path, which is not stoppable. We can contribute our, whatever we can contribute but what I would, I
have been telling young guys, is accelerate this growth. Accelerate the speed of this growth. And I am talking to
you now, from whom will come some of the leaders of future India. You should concentrate on how to accelerate
this process. Dr Pankaj Joshi talked about what the great Sardar Patel said about “Education with character,
education without character is useless”. Einstein also said the same thing. Einstein was once asked what is that
makes a great scientist? And his answer was ‘People think it is the intellect. They are wrong, it is the character.’
Not that anybody can do the great science, but with the intellect without character then you can never do great
science because science requires integrity, a vision, a feeling for the common man and so on.

Yesterday I was quoting Swami Vivekananda in my talk. Swami Vivekananda, 100 years back the great
man said, the old theology was you are an atheist if you don’t believe in God. Today the theology is (today means
100 years back) Theology is you are an atheist if you don’t believe in yourself because you can interpret it in terms
of Advaita Vedanta but he meant it. That means if India is to progress, Indians must have self – belief. At least the
young people must have self-belief and you must have optimism. Don’t watch TV too much. Some stupid fellow
with low IQ makes an obscure comment at a place you haven’t heard of. Four more intelligent people, presumably
with higher IQs come and debate it on our news channels for half an hour. And we are supposed to enjoy it. Why
do you waste your time for that? It only makes you pessimistic. So, you young people apart from character and
self-belief must have optimism; justified optimism.

As I said India is not stoppable; here and there, of course, no country, India is such a diverse country.
Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath, who is the Director, Centre of Brain Research in Institute of Science Bengaluru,
has told me there are 4600+ genetically diverse groups in India. No other country in the world has these so
genetically diverse different languages but still, we are all moving together. As I said watch TV, it looks they just
talk about differences what about similarities, what about their much more than the differences we have heard and
add to it passion. Whatever you do, do it with passion. With all these together I am sure you will do great things
for yourself and for your country.
