Lest anyone think this is only a Westcoast phenomenon, the situation at Houston’s Bush International Airport, where ground transportation trips are longer, is even worse for taxis, as shown below.

Taxis have been reduced to about 20% of the trips from the Airport, compared to their previous 60% of the market – a loss of 2/3 of their former business. Shared ride business is down 20% at IAH.
