Around 100 million years ago, India was an Island. India’s name is
derived from the ‘Indus river’ and Indus Valley Civilisation is the

world’s oldest Civilisation. There are around 468 cities in India.

Every city has its own importance.

Here are given some important cities with their specialities.

Delhi is the capital city of India. Agra is famous for Taj Mahal.

Amritsar city is famous for Golden temple. Port Blair is famous for its cellular jail.

Surat city is famous for its diamond work. Mumbai city was formerly known as
Bombay. It is the Commercial Capital

of India.
