Candi Tawangalun or Candi Tawangalon location is quite remote because it is located on a hilly land about
300 m south of the road of Buncitan Village, Sidoarjo Regency. Not much is left of Candi Tawangalun structure. The
remaining part of the temple is its square plan body measuring 5 m x 5 m and 2.5 m high. The depth of the temple
inner chamber is 2.20 m. There are penampil or entrance pavilions on all four of the temple sides.

The entire parts of the brick temple are no longer intact. Brick structures on the eastern side partially
collapsed, while on the northeastern corner badly damaged, and on the northwest corner also collapsed. The
environment surrounding the temple is not well kept because many people are digging and using the soil and a

few years ago the land was taken for highway construction. It is a serious concern. There is no background
information on its establishment, so Candi Tawangalun becoming a forgotten
sacred structure in solitary. (cha)
