1.1.3 CHECKLIST DECISION POINTS TAKEOFF
Within the emergency procedures an elongated box, labeled Q1, Q2,
Q3 etc., is used to denote a “decision point” where a crewmember FIRE/SMK
NORM must observe an indication or condition and make a decision that will
determine the proper subsequent action. Each box contains a question
that can be answered either “YES” or “NO.” If the answer is “YES,” the PRES/OXY
NOT FOR FLIGHT
items listed immediately under the decision box will provide additional
information and/or list a procedure. If the answer is “NO,” a labeled
arrow will point to the next appropriate decision point or emergency ENG/PROP
procedure step.
NOTE FUEL
The letter “Q” was intentionally not used in the labeling
of the emergency procedure steps to prevent confusion AAR
between an emergency procedure step labeled “Q” and
a decision point labeled “Q1”.
SPEC First-level decision arrows are depicted by a solid line, second-level ELEC
arrows use a dashed line and third-level arrows use a solid line, as
shown below.
