Pull on one

adjacent standing part,
then pull on the other
working end and its
adjacent standing part.
Pull on the standing parts
6 only, and let the upper half-
knot twist slightly so that it
overlays the completed knot
from corner to corner.
You can make the surgeon's
knot even more secure by
adding a second tuck in the
upper half-knot at the end of
step 4.
