         his has a sim.ilar  forn1ation  to  the granny knot, except that the ends are diagonally   z
     T opposite each  other. Like the granny and thief knots, the grief knot is  not a very   a
     secure knot, but with  the  ends  pulled tightly it could be  used  to bind lightweight   "

                               towards the  other
                               short end.


        Make a bight in  one end of
      I the cord.
                      Tuck the working end
                   3 under the short leg of the
                   bight and then over the
                   standing part of the bight.


                                                     Tuck the working end back once
                                                  4  more through the bight to  emerge
                                                  from  the completed knot alongside  its
                                                  own standing part.
