           In  one of the  ropes  to  be
         I joined, make a loop so  that
         the  working end lies  over the
         standing part.

                                                   Pass  the  working end of the
                                                2 second rope  up  through  the
                                                first loop and  make a second
                                                loop with  the  working end
                                                lying under the standing part.
            Take  the first working end
         3 and  pass  it down  behind
         both  loops.
