Take the bight around the
5 back of the standing parts.
Bring the bight up and trip

bowline form. The bight is now Tuck the bight down from
lying parallel to the standing 6 front to back, through the
parts. Adj ust the twin loops to knot. The bight will form the

NOTE
If one of the standing
parts is shorter than the
othe1; for sewrity, tie it
to its partner with a
doi1ble overhand knot.
Grasp all of the legs of the
7 loops firmly in one hand,
and the two standing parts of
the rope in the other hand, and
pull in opposite directions.
