                 Managing Tasks in Salesforce

Keep your to-do list in Salesforce and stay right on top of your accounts, deals, leads, and cases.
Salesforce gives you different tools to maximize productivity—quick ways to create and update
tasks, pre-filtered task lists, and task notification options.

While you work a lead, case, account, or opportunity, use tasks to log information around calls,
meetings, emails, and other activity, and set reminders for follow-up.

Your open and closed tasks can be viewed in the My Tasks section on your Salesforce home
page. Tasks can also be tracked on a dashboard component or list view.

                 Creating Tasks
You can create a task on any object in Salesforce, including Accounts, Leads, Opportunities, and
custom objects. You can also create a task directly from your home page.

After clicking New Task, select the record type you want to use. In most cases, select Standard
Task. There are different record type that allows you to populate specific fields for other purposes,
such as Demo and Marketing Requests.

Complete the fields in the screen that displays. The Assigned to user defaults to your name, but
you can also assign tasks to others.
