WICKED GAME
by Chris Isaak (cont.)
Key B minor Tempo 115BPM
E A D G B E
So as we can see above, there are two rhythm guitars to be overdubbed on this song.
Both are playing the same chord progression but in different ways - the first playing
standard chords, the second using bar chords where only 4 of the 6 strings are fretted,
leaving the E and the B to ring out openly. The last chord is a variation on an Emaj -
called an Eadd2. Playing these two chord progressions side-by-side makes the song sound
rich and full without adding too much.
Before we put down these chords, let's get our rhythm section, starting with the
percussion.
Percussion part one (kick, tom)
Percussion part two (shaker)

Our third overdub is the bassline
We can now move onto putting our first chord progression down as displayed in rhythm
guitar one at the top of the page.
In this order using the strumming pattern shown below, the Bmin and the Amaj chord
are played for one bar each, then finally the Emaj is played for 2 bars. running
alongside the kick and snare as a guide.

For the final overdub - now you have rhythm guitar one recorded, play this exact same chord
progression and strumming pattern using the chords displayed in rhythm guitar two.
