iPAUL promotes interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary articulation for meaningful integration of competencies and content across
learning areas. Therefore, a subject is not limited to developing one LPO, rather all applicable LPOs whenever possible , and this requires
articulation of competencies and content. Moreover, the thematic clustering of the subjects aims to maximize teaching and learning, and
targets the holistic development of the students.
iPAUL focuses on the quality of learning and progress of all students rather than grades and ranking. Thus, Performance Tasks
will be given using Project-based Learning and interdisciplinary approaches. Both formative and summative assessments, which are OBE
in nature, are primarily Portfolio Assessments as evidences of learning and participation. Recognizing that it will be difficult to strictly
impose the usual set of standards and criteria to measure s t u d e n t performance during this time, both student requirements and
the grading system will be modified in consideration of the iPAUL structure and the reduced student workload. These are still intended
to be meaningful, fair, accurate and manifests student learning. No numerical grades will be given; instead, the following will be used:
Grade Level: Rating: Description:
Advanced The learner exceeds the core requirements in terms of knowledge, skills and understanding, and can
transfer them automatically and flexibly through authentic performance tasks.
Grade School, Proficient The learner has developed the fundamental knowledge and skills and core understanding, and can
Junior High transfer them independently through authentic performance tasks.
School, and Approaching The learner developed the fundamental knowledge and skills and core understanding and, with little
Senior High Proficiency guidance from the teachers and/or with some assistance from peers, can transfer this understanding
School through authentic performance task
Developing The learner possesses the minimum knowledge and skills and core understanding, but needs help
throughout the performance of authentic tasks.
Aside from academic competence, equally important areas to be developed among the students are DISCIPLINE and VALUES
FORMATION. Conduct and effort go beyond the limits of any school set -up. However, given the nature of iPAUL, conduct will
emphasize (online) behavior, specifically important DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP skills and dispositions such as NETIQUETTE, RESPECT,
and ACADEMIC INTEGRITY (offline & online). On the other hand, effort is seen through the QUALITY of work and CONSISTENCY
in performing assigned tasks. SPSB puts prime importance on excellence and integrity. All submitted outputs will follow an
Honesty Pledge system attested by both the student and parents and must uphold intellectual property rights. We believe that
iPAUL will help the students to become mindful and self-directed learners. It will continue to support the development of the
Paulinian core values thus, we have also integrated Paulinian Formation time in our every day schedule to develop and deepen Paulinian
Identity and Spirituality. Transition time is also incorporated in the class program/schedule to promote wellness among our learners.
