About the editor
Heather Barnfield is Director, Intellectual Property Development for Korn Ferry. In addition to serving as
editor and co-author for this guide, Heather was part of the team who developed the Korn Ferry
Leadership Architect™ global competency framework and was a contributing writer for the Korn Ferry
Institute competencies best practices paper titled Define, Distill, Deploy. She edited and co-wrote the
Korn Ferry Talent Review product suite, as well as the Korn Ferry Interview Architect™ and is the series

editor for Korn Ferry’s Career Architect Express. Heather has over twenty years of experience in
leadership development, talent management, and engagement. Her career has spanned a variety of
leadership positions, as well as consultancy, across a wide range of industries both in the UK and the US,
where she has been based since 2009.
