The Bible Tells Me So 83
In that God speaks of reckoning the building proper,
the altar, and the worshipers, it is as if He welcomes the
worship of the people in the Tribulation Temple, despite
the ultimate actions of the Antichrist.
It is clear that this final reference combines well with
the other three and pictures the same times. The time and
place are well defined. The forty-two-month period foreseen
by both Daniel and John is a persuasive example of biblical
consistency.
DANIEL AND THE COMING PRINCE
Daniel's inspired foresight can be better evaluated if we
double-check his accuracy. We have seen that God showed
him the future situation concerning the Tribulation Temple
and the Antichrist. But this is by no means the whole of
the marvelous seventy-weeks-of-years prophecy.
The vision imparted to Daniel sweeps over history. It
predicts the rebuilding of Jerusalem after the Babylonian
captivity, the first coming and crucifixion of the Messiah,
and the destruction of the second Temple, before dealing
with the final tribulation period.
We might say that Daniel takes us from the end point of
the prophecies of Jeremiah (600 B.C.) to the end of time.
This gives us a chance to check on Daniel. If he was
right about the events that already have happened, there is
good reason to suppose that he will be correct about future
events.
We have looked at Daniel 9:26-27 for information about
the coming tribulation period. Let's look back a verse for
Daniel's version about Jesus, the Messiah. "Know there-
fore and understand that from the going forth of the com-
mandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Mes-
