under the control of Babylon. When Persia conquered Babylon
near the close of Daniel's life and ministry, Babylon was incorpo­
rated within (Medo) Persia. It is possible that, when the war of
Gog and Magog is fulfilled, Iran and Iraq may be consolidated
again. Even though they represent opposing denominations with­
in the Moslem religion, they are, after all, both Moslem countries.
There is some evidence of a rapprochement between the two coun­
tries, and their consolidation is not unthinkable.

     At any rate, Russia is considered even more of a protector of
Iraq than it is of Iran. For years, Russia has been an outspoken
advocate of Iraq and Saddam Hussein throughout all of the con­
troversy with the United Nations, the United States and Britain
over the inspections of weapons of mass destruction.

                                OUT OF ROME

     The European Union, the Eurodollar and NATO events in the
Balkans may be setting the stage for the rise of the Antichrist.
When we realize that personality arises out of a reconstituted lat­
ter-day Roman Empire, then the various events in Europe suggest
his early entrance into world affairs. The gathering of European
nations into confederations for various purposes may well lead to
one large federation of ten nations and so conform to Daniel's pic­
ture of the revised Roman Empire out of which the Antichrist
will arise.

                           "THE YELLOW PERIL"

     The Book of Revelation indicates that the "kings of the east"
play an important role in the end times. Historically, one of the
great physical barriers to any land invasion from the Orient has
been the mighty Euphrates River. One of the miraculous events
during the Tribulation is the drying up of the Euphrates so that the
"kings of the east" can accomplish their invasion.

     And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great
     river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the
