Chapter Five
KNOWING AND WALKING IN CHRIST’S LOVE
We have so far pointed out the fact that man in love is one who walks in obedience to the commandment to husbands to love their wives. We have also noted that the love that husbands are commanded to express toward their wives must be patterned after the love that Christ showed to His church. That type and order of love has been compared to the love that a man shows to his body. Christ being the head of the church and we being His body points us to the equivalence of the love of Christ to His body and the love of man to his body.
What is clear from all these is that except a husband loves his wife the way Christ loved His church, he cannot be said to have fulfilled the commandment to love his wife. Except a
