This is point about the compelling place of prayers towards achieving sanctification is more strongly made in 1 Timothy 2:1-4,
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
God desires ‘all men’ to be saved and to come to a knowledge of Jesus (who is the truth, the way and the life)! Also, the life of godliness and reverence requires prayers to be offered for kings (and queens as well). Godliness and reverence that come from praying for ‘our queens’ promotes a life of quietness and peace in the home. Look at how the NLT puts the same set of scriptures:
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and
