The Man In Love
Look at what Jesus said to Peter about this important component of the love treatment in John 21:15-18,
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
John 21:15-17
Jesus emphasized the very important place of nourishment in demonstrating love toward His sheep. He said to Peter, if you truly love me then you would show it by feeding my sheep. True love of Christ shown toward our wives therefore must reflect in the quality of feeding that we extend to them. In addition, we will not more out of our wives than the quality of feeding that we give to them. According to 1 Corinthians 9:7, if we tend to our flock well, we will drink very well from the milk they produce!
