The Man In Love
Daniel and His three friends probably came out better in every respect compared with others because the joy of the Lord was their strength. Recall that they purposed in their hearts not to defile themselves with the king’s diet. The joy derived from walking in obedience to God sustained them and made them better than their competitors. The word of God is also a source of joy (Jeremiah 15:16).
Let me close on this subject by saying that husbands should also learn to nourish their wives with faith and patience.
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
James 5:7-8
The ‘promise’ of a glorious wife, like very other promise of God in His word, is obtainable through faith and patience. Hebrews 6:10- 12 says
For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not
