In the same way, wives are to subject themselves to their husbands, their heads, in everything. Again, it is not that husbands should demand or force compliance. It is good to be mindful of the provision and expect your wives to subject themselves to you as head, in everything. It is for wives to understand that this is what God expects from them as a gesture of love toward their husbands and compliance with the command offers very valuable benefits. If the church could willfully subject itself to Christ in everything, then wives, being members of the church also, must not have any reservations or misgivings about subjecting themselves to their God-ordained heads.
It will be correct to assert that husbands will be more effective as head, and as savior of their wives, when wives walk in compliance with the command given by God to subject themselves in all things to their husbands. By implication, wives will undermine the ability of their husbands to function as head and deliver salvation benefits to their lives when they refuse to subject themselves to their leadership in everything. Indeed, wives will answer to God at the appointed time, for their submission or lack thereof to their husbands.
