The Man In Love
therefore, in the wisdom and understanding of the love toward your wives by the Spirit of God, so that the excellent wife can manifest, and the crown of glory can be put upon you.
Husbands, please do not turn your glory (your bodies or wives) to shame. You do that when you love or emphasize worthlessness (unimportant things), seek falsehood and sin out of anger toward her. Let your anger not lead to sin. Most importantly, follow after righteousness. The consequences of sin or unrighteousness will put your wife to shame. When your wife is put to shame, you will be put to shame. Commit to righteousness as part of your life of sacrifice and preserve your glory! Psalm 4:2-5 has a compelling insight for us on this.
How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood? Selah But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; the Lord will hear when I call to Him. Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
Psalm 4:2-5
Husbands, do not give your glory (your wife, your body) to another man. Guard your glory jealously. It is your responsibility.
