The Man In Love
walked with Him for the period of three years also denied knowing him at a very critical period. He did absolutely nothing to deserve the treatment meted at Him. He was taken as sheep going to the slaughter but He did not even resist nor did He attempt to argue a case for His release.
It is clear that Jesus did not seek His own, He did not parade Himself, and He was not puffed up. As bad as the suffering was on Him and as destructive as the disgrace was, Jesus simply traded off all His own desires just so that the desire of God for us could manifest.
Ephesians 5:2 says that husbands should imitate Jesus and give themselves to their wives as a sacrifice and an offering. The sacrifice of Jesus rose up to God as sweet smelling. The life of sacrifice by the man in love be one that is deemed acceptable by God. Sacrifices of husbands for their wives is evidence of love.
