The Man In Love
with God, He made Himself of no reputation! He thought Himself to be nothing when he came to the earth and took the form of a servant and came as a man. He humbled Himself and obeyed God to the point of being crucified according to the plan of God. He said “let this mind be in you.” That means we all have worked to do to ensure that we have the same mind in us that empowered Christ to make so much sacrifice. It means that we have a responsibility to yield to the manifestation of such a mind, and to build such a mind in the same way that it was in Christ Jesus. It is our responsibility just as Jesus laid His life without being coerced or forced or cajoled by the Father.
The love that Jesus requires of husbands to show to their wives requires this kind of mind to be in them. This mind views every interaction with our views from the viewpoint of sacrifice. We are conditioned to seek our wives interest first and to trade off our interests for their sake, whenever the need arises. The mind of sacrifice is deliberate about allowing our wives to have their way on certain issues or in certain situations even when we don’t necessarily agree with their position, provided their choice is not unto sin!
