The Man In Love
the heart being a key factor in our quest to please Him. Husbands’ sacrifices to their wives must equally be from a willing and loyal heart. They must be joyfully done. Husbands must be glad at every opportunity that presents itself for them to sacrifice for the benefit of their wives, whether it is in decision-making or it is with regard to giving her a gift.
As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.
1 Chronicles 28:9
Our wives, with whom we live in very close proximity, also have the ability to know when the husband’s sacrifice comes from the right heart, a willing and loyal heart. If the right heart condition is behind the sacrifice, the right response will be elicited from our wives. The contrary will be the case, if the heart of the husband is not right.
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
