The Man In Love
Don’t undertake sacrifices for your wives out of grudges or a feeling of compulsion. It will not be appreciated and would constitute a waste in the relationship. No relationship ‘capital’ or ‘mileage’ will accrue from such.
SACRIFICE MUST BE CONTINUOUS. Husbands must understand that the life of sacrifice that the command to love their wives, demands is such that would last the lifetime of their relationship. It has to become an integral part of their lifestyle. It must be something that comes naturally from them toward their wives without them having to think specifically about it or plan such acts just to please their wives.
For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.
Philippians 4:16-18
Paul made reference to this in the above scripture. The Philippians sent aid to him in love once and again. They kept at it. It became a natural component in their relationship with Paul. Not that Paul
