The Man In Love
Jesus said “if anyone loves me” not that everyone MUST love Him. He simply told us that He expects everyone to love Him and He gave us an idea of the benefit that will accrue from such a gesture but the decision is left with us whether to love Him or not. Husbands are therefore, not to compel their wives to submit to them.
In actual fact, I insist that the demand from a husband that his wife should submit is evidence of the failure of the instrument of love in His hand. Going by Ephesians 5:2-28, God empowered man with the wisdom that will make him as a husband to make his wife all that he desires her to be. The instrument of love has been given to each husband to use to make his wife what he desires her to be, a glorious and submissive wife, holy and without blemish. When the husband does not achieve that in his wife then the use of the instrument of love has failed in his hand. He has himself alone to blame and no one else.
