her husband, she loses all the compelling benefits that would otherwise have accrued to her.
Husbands, Don’t Demand Submission
While it is true that God commanded wives to submit to their husbands, there is no provision for husbands to demand from or compel their wives to submit. Looking again at the relationship between Christ and the Church as the same benchmark for both husbands and wives, it is clear that Jesus has not at any time compelled, forced or demanded that the church be submissive to Him. He has made available the word to us and He has given us advice on the appropriate way to follow. He however, leaves the decision to comply for us to make. Look at John 14:23-24 for example,
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.
