The Man In Love
swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face. Therefore you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I command you today, to observe them.
Deuteronomy 7:7-11
God’s love is really not earned by any of us. He is the one who showed us love first, even in the creation of man. In the above scripture we see that also. He set His love on the people not because of anything they had to offer but just because He loved them and loved their fathers as well. The importance of reciprocating His love was emphasized in the scripture when it made clear that God keeps His covenant with those who love Him in return and keeps His commandments. The reciprocal God that we serve extends this is attribute of His back to us when we choose to disobey Him. Disobedience to His commandments is interpreted as ‘hate’ and it only provokes Him to repay us for such in like manner. He loves us first and shows it but when we rebuff
