The Man In Love
And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

God made clear here that genuine love is what He desires and not ‘hypocritical’ love. He does not want love expressed with the mouth alone but backed up by action that proceeds from what the heart contains. This kind of fake love will not fulfill God’s demand from husbands and it will equally not transform the lives of their wives. This kind of love will not be obvious to all men and it will fail to identify us as disciples of Jesus.
Love that is meeting the credible needs and desires of our wives in the same manner that one with this world’s goods uses them to meet the needs of his brother according to 1 John 3:17. When we shut our heart to the needs of our wives when we have what it takes to respond to and actually meet them, clearly the love that Jesus commanded is not present. Equally, when we ask our wives to come back tomorrow for what we can give today, the love that husbands are commanded to show is also not present. Proverbs 3:27 says,
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so. Do not say to
