The Man In Love
Jesus Christ gave Himself for us, His church, by dying on the cross of Calvary. He laid down His life so that He can fulfill the requirement of a blood sacrifice for us to be reconciled to God. He freely put His life on the line as an unparalleled act of love toward His church.
“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
John 10:17-18
Our lives and eternal destinies were at stake as a result of the fall of Adam and God did not desire that we perish but that we enjoy eternal life. He let His Son go, who desired to stand in our plan in order to rescue us. The one who knew no sin became sin for us just to free us and accomplish His Father’s will. Our welfare was paramount to Him.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
The blood of Jesus was the hefty price paid to get us off the hook of eternal death. But that was God’s demand for man’s sin
