The Man In Love
and Jesus committed Himself to doing that will (Hebrews 10:6- 10). Without the blood shed, the sins of man could not have been remitted (Hebrews 9:22). But after He shed His blood, He took it and sprinkled the mercy seat, to appease God for and behalf of us.
But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9:11-12
The height of love was called for in this redemption exercise and Jesus willfully succumbed to the demand. John 15:13 that no love is greater than for a man to lay His life for his friends. On our part, we did not do anything to merit this kind of love (1 John 4:19).
Jesus took our place to suffer for what He did not do but was the consequence of our sins so that we will access the greatest benefit of all, reconciliation back to our God! This is giving Himself for us. This is what is expected of a husband to do for his wife in a relationship patterned after the love of Christ toward His church.
