Christ Gave Himself In Other Ways Also
The death experience of Jesus was not the only way in which He gave Himself for the church. It was most certainly the hallmark of His assignment. Other ways in which He gave Himself to the church need to be examined so that husbands will understand that they are not necessarily expected to die as proof that they showed love to their wives. Key examples of Jesus’ further gestures in this regard are highlighted here.
MADE HIMSELF OF NO REPUTATION. Jesus the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, came to the earth as a mere mortal just because of His love for man, expressed in His desire for man to be reconciled back his creator. He who dwelt with God in heaven left all of that comfort and despised His reputation. He did not have to do so but He did. He thought of Himself as nothing, humbled Himself and came as a servant because of us.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the
