Infrastructure Expansion
The last ten years has seen the University grow in leaps and bounds, student numbers
have increased from 19 000 during 2014 to over 30 000 today. These changes in numbers
required significant improvements on the Institution’s physical infrastructure. This section
highlights key infrastructure projects.
1. ENG. JOSE EDUARDO DOS SANTOS CAMPUS: PHASE III
Construction cost:
N$188 Million
The Eng. José Eduardo dos Santos
Campus is being constructed in five
phases. When all the phases are
completed, about 1000 students will be
studying Engineering at any given time.
The buildings currently occupied consist
of the Namibian Wing (Phase I), the
Indian Wing (Phase II), and the
German Wing (Phase III).
Furniture and equipment are still
to be procured for many of the
laboratories and units.
2. HAGE GEINGOB CAMPUS
Health Science Training Complex
with state-of-the-art public Dental Clinic,
constructed at a cost of N$340 million
A key developmental objective of complex
– Infrastructure for social progression
The training complex comes with a functional public
dental clinic and dental practice. The clinic is divided into
two sections namely, the private wing, which is offering
general and specialised dental services by UNAM lecturers
and specialists, and the student training cubicle wing. In
this wing, patients are treated by students under the direct
supervision of a lecturer or specialist.
The complex is also housing: The Schools of Medicine,
Pharmacy, and Nursing & Public Health.
