7. KATIMA MULILO CAMPUS
Construction of the Department of
Wildlife Management and Ecotourism
The Department is located close to the national parks in the
Region giving it a competitive advantage to ensure practical
and applied studies and research with minimised transaction
costs. The Department is located ideally at the heart of the
Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA
TFCA), in an area with high biodiversity, considerable cross-
border wildlife movement, and enormous tourism potential required to educate and train professionals in
the field of wildlife management, conservation, environment, and tourism. Students should, for instance,
be able to identify different wildlife habitats and develop species checklists of the mammals and birds
encountered along the Zambezi River, Sikunga Channel, National Parks and Conservancies.

8. MAIN CAMPUS
Administration Building
The campus started operations in 1978 with an administration building supporting 354 students. The same
building currently supports 14 800 students, which clearly demonstrates why new administration facilities
are required. Administration Staff are currently spread around the main campus due to a lack of space in
the administration block. This constitues a massive problem for smooth operations in terms of administrative
duties and delivery to staff members and students at large.
Construction cost: ±N$343 Million For more information, please contact:
