sneaks back to its basket, where it begins to gnaw at a piece of old bone.

"It's just bloody Jano. Behave!" He snarls angrily at the German Shepard.

Tim turns on the light by inserting a detached cord hanging from the wall

into an extension cord that lays on the floor and a faint yellowish light spreads
from a solitary bulb hanging from the ceiling.

"Now we can see,” He says to Janokovic, who has sneezed repeatedly

since the came in the door. The itchy smell of petrol and oil stings the nostrils,
and even though he is a big smoker, the unfamiliar smell is still too overwhelm-

                   ing for his nose.
“And about King, don’t bother. I’ll give him some meat and water and he’ll

                   be alright for the night."

                          “Yes," answers Janokovic, nodding.
“Just a moment mate. I’ll go to the basement and pick up some blankets

for you. Have a seat on the sofa inside the office and wait for me. The switch is

                   inside to the right.”
As Tim disappears downstairs, Jano enters the small office and sits down on a

dirty old couch; it must have been there for ages. He take a look around. There’s
an old desk, a dog basket, folding chairs and the walls are decorated with posters

of nude women; they look like pornstars from the 90’s, but he isn’t sure. There’s

oil stains everywhere around the office, and old food is the trashcan. It’s not a
place you would like to make deals.

“Here you go,” says Tim, as he enters the room, handing some rugs to

Janokovic; they have clearly been used on the floor for car service.
“And you,” he says pointing at King. “You behave nicely. We have a speical

guest.” He throws a large piece of meat to the dog, who immediately stops whin-

ing and barking, and now instead, eagerly gnaws the flesh from the chunky meat-
                   bone.

“Thanks, Tim. I promise I'll make up for it. I-”

Tim interjects, being not used to hearing kind word: ”Yes, yes. It’s okay.
You have to be here alone, so no trouble. I have to go home now and have my

night's sleep, and I don’t want to be disturbed.”
