Narrator: Pinocchio is a wooden puppet. He lives with his father who is old.

              Mike, Ken, Alan,

Pinocchio’s father: What a lovely morning. Pinocchio, where are you?
Pinocchio: I’m in the kitchen, Dad.
Pinocchio’s father: What are you doing here? You can’t get close to the fire. It’s
                                  dangerous.
Pinocchio: Sorry. I am hungry. I want to make a sandwich.

Pinocchio’s father: Oh, I see. Breakfast will be ready in a minute. Go get your
                                  backpack. It’s time for school.
                     Pinocchio: School? What’s a school?

Pinocchio’s father: It’s a place where you learn and play. You’re a big boy now.
You can go to school to make some friends.
Pinocchio: Hurray! I can go to school. I am a student now!
I can learn new things and have new friends, just like the other boys.
Narrator: It’s Pinocchio’s first day of school. He quickly meets a new friend,

but he was so excited that he left his books at home. His father runs
to school and gives him the books.
Chorus: (sing the song on p. 44)

                                  Who’s he? Who’s he?
He’s my father. He’s my father.
                                  Is he a teacher?
                                  No. He’s a farmer.
