Where?
Teacher training is hosted in a variety of ways depending on the need. For novice
teachers, training is hosted at their schools or at a centre geographically close to their
schools. For intermediate to advanced teachers, blended and online models are used in delivery of
the training. Blended and online models use a range of tools such as video conferencing, adobe
connect room or Skype.
How?
The teacher is given a task/scenario that addresses a problem that the teacher needs to
solve to make their teaching more effective. This problem-based scenario is scaffolded
using the first principles of instruction. The motivation to learn then becomes intrinsic rather than
externally motivated and displays an innate readiness to learn.
The following principles of Andragogy are entrenched within the SchoolNet pathway of digital
learning.
