Innovative strategies to deliver nutrition in the community

Nutrition in the community covers a wide range of delivery settings and so is faced with varied and complex challenges, from the nutritional requirements of infants and the very young to older people or those living with chronic and/ or life-limiting condition.
This series of seminars will explore nutrition in the community across a multitude of settings, including schools and the workplace. Speakers will review the latest guidelines, show case the latest research and explore practical strategies to encourage better nutritional practices and bring about positive dietary behaviour change.
Supporting good nutrition in the early years
Early years nutrition is vital with recent reports indicating that by 2025 the number of under- ves who are overweight or obese will have risen from an estimated 42 million to 70 million (World Health Organisation). The food that young children consume, and the habits they develop around food have a large impact on health and well-being during childhood and later in life. Through case studies and discussion this session will review the current nutritional status of one to  ve year olds, and explore the role of early years settings in positively in uencing the nutrition and hydration habits in young children.
