               A. Preliminary Practice

Sometimes when you want to prevent something bad to
happen to someone, you need to give advice or suggest
him/her to do so or not to do that. When you are advising or
suggesting, it is necessary to use appropriate expressions. Do
you know how to express them?
In the following dialogue, you will see how they assert the
expression. The dialogue will be performed by Mitro and
                                             Rizky.

Mitro : What is your suggestion, Rizky?
Risky : You had better submit your homework as soon as
                                           possible. (Advice)
Mitro : That would be nice. Thank you, Rizky.
Risky : What do you think I should do?
Mitro : I think you should get the teacher and deliver your homework.
Risky : Thanks so much, that’s good idea.

As you can see, they are expressing how to suggest, give advice and respond to
suggestion. On the next pages, you will learn the expressions one by one. But remember,
while learning them, practicing is obviously recommended.

                                                   Asking for Suggestion

In asking for suggestion, we should know what the problem is. In the other words, we
ask for suggestion because we have problem to cope with, so, asking for suggestion
means suggestion to overcome a problem and it is a good advice.
In the following dialogue, you will see this kind of expression:
