Michael S. McCloskey, AIA, LEED AP BD+C | Principal-in-Charge
Michael is a registered architect and urban designer. As a principal of Bernardon, he
manages the firm’s Philadelphia office, mentors staff, and supports the firm’s regional
and national development goals. Mike is recognized for a design process that instills
efficient and aesthetic design considerations that respond to the varying goals of his
clients. His design and project experience reinforces the firm’s prominent presence in
several key market sectors including mixed use, civic and cultural design, and multi-unit
housing. Mike has special areas of expertise in urban redevelopment, urban design, and
place making with a particular interest in smart urban growth and housing patterns. He
serves as an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts &
Design and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Delaware Valley Smart Growth
Alliance (DVSGA).
