Institutional Issues










                      The Service of Judicial Facilitators began in the late nineties in order to help the local ju-

                      dges in isolated communities. It was then implemented in small villages and quarters in


                      rural and urban areas when it became clear that the methodology was efficient and the


                      people learned that the judicial facilitator was a bridge between the community and the


                      Judicial Power.





                      With the support of the Organization of American States (OAS), the program has been


                      developed in several Latin-American countries since 2007. Now, the Program is suppor-


                      ted by various resolutions of the highest political body of the institution, its General As-

                      sembly.
