Tips for making and assembling delicious wraps
Prepare the fillings in advance
Homemade wraps or flatbreads are best eaten immediately, while they’re still warm, so it’s
a good idea to get organised and prepare your fillings in advance. Here are a few fun ideas
for fillings:
Make a breakfast feast by filling wraps with scrambled egg and crispy bacon bits, or
even smoked salmon or chorizo.
Add some Mexican flavour to your life and fill them with chilli con carne, sour cream,
roasted corn and coriander.
Experiment with some colourful roasted vegetables, feta and a sprinkling of herbs.
Shredded roast chicken, avo, grated cheese and onion marmalade is always a crowd-
pleaser.
Make a gourmet wrap with sliced roast beef, horseradish, cream cheese, thinly sliced
red onion and rocket. Yum.
Try out some spicy cajun flavours. A cajun spice mix is a blend of Native American, French,
Spanish and African flavours that's unique to the US state of Louisiana. It's fiery and packed
with so much flavour that your tastebuds will thank you. It's also a way to dress up a fairly
ordinary set of chicken strips and turn them into something worth having a party for. Cajun
food is about cooking simple, eating local and making sure there's always enough to share
with family or friends. The predominant seasonings (and as always, opinions vary here) are
oregano; thyme; cayenne pepper; paprika; ground cumin and often mustard, onion or garlic
powder.
