BALANCED DIET
A balanced diet gives your body the nutrients it needs to function
correctly. To get the proper nutrition from your diet, you should
consume the majority of your daily calories which are about 2000
in a day and come from different foods.
The balanced diet helps the brain to function well helping us to stay
healthy .This may help reduce the risk of seizures for some people
with epilepsy
Eating foods which release energy levels slowly and steadily help
you feel full for longer, and often provide more fiber than foods
which release energy quickly.
Steady energy levels can help you to feel more active
Some AEDs e.g. phenytoin, carbamazepine and phenobarbital
can cause a deficiency of folic acid by interfering with the way its
absorbed; daily supplement of folic acid for women in the child
bearing ages is recommended
