Women’s roles in two generations

The role women between my mother and my generation are very different. Today, women are

very important in the society because they are independent, determined and able to achieve what
they want.

First, Women are more independent because they can decide that they want to do. For

example, in my mother’s generations, women depended on a man especially after marriage. In
this case, they depended on her husband because men brought home money. Besides, men

considered women as mothers and housewives. However, in my generation, women are
independent because they make their own decisions about anything that they want. Also, they

like to do things by themselves and carving a future without the help of their parents, boyfriend
or husband.

Second, women are more determined. In the generation of my mother, women had afraid to

express themselves and say what they thought. For example, when she was married, their
husband made the decisions for they and he did not ask his wife nor respected the ideas of her.

However, in my generation, women are more determined because most women know what they
want, they are not afraid to ask what they want and they work hard to make their dreams come

true.

Finally, women can achieve what they want. Nowadays, they have a vital role in society due
to the introduction of women into the working world. Therefore, they can work and they have

their own income which can support their plan to do what they want. However, in my mother’
generation, women occupied low-level jobs such as domestic workers, secretaries, waitresses,

etc. They were underestimated and they could not fight for their dreams.

In conclusion, women have taken a very important role in the society. Because of this, gender
equality was achieved, which did not exist before and repressed women. However, nowadays,

women are independent, decided and able to achieve what they want.
