Marine litter (continued)
ACTIONS: Let’s Go
Create and deliver a presentation to your whole
school about the impact of marine litter. Could
you repeat this to other schools or at a community
event to spread the message far and wide?
Visit your local river or beach. What litter can you
see? Where do you think it came from? Create a
story about a piece of litter and its journey to the
sea.
Ask pupils in your school what items they think
are ok to flush down a toilet? Where do they think
the items end up? Feedback to the school on the
answers and about the correct behaviour.
To help tackle the growing crisis of marine plastic
pollution, Keep Wales Tidy has joined forces with
TerraCycle, a global leader in recycling hard-to-
recycle waste, to turn marine plastic back into
reusable products. Plastic collected at beach Marlisco Dær Cymru Welsh Water – Primary
cleanups will be processed and turned into new
recycled products. Why not get involved in a Marine Debris Program Dær Cymru Welsh Water – Secondary
