No Way Out
They walked slowed up the rotten steps and
across the verandah that squeaked with each step
they made. When they got to the rusty metal
door, they had to push against it for it to open.
They used what looked like an old tin of paint to
keep it open.
Once inside they moved as quietly as possible
because there were big, hairy bats sleeping on
the ceiling and they did not want them to wake
up and fly around them.
